Biography

In this text I describe how my work is related to the way in which I experience landscape and space.

I make architectonic installations in landscape and spaces inside, and organize performances. My aim is to influence and change the experience and perception of reality.
Light plays an important role in my installations. I use materials that enter into an interaction with light. They reflect and absorb light and mirror reality.
I often place my installations in landscape. Because of the influence of the changing light in landscape on the materials of the installation, the image of the installation changes and, due to the working of the installation, the experience of landscape changes: another reality appears. This opens the possibility of the existence of more realities in space.
In landscape/space there is natural time. Every moment passes away and never returns. The expiration of time in landscape/space has to do with the course of light. In my work I investigate how this is related to the experience of the existence of more realities.
Rhythm, repetition and sequences are recurring elements in my work. I repeat certain aspects of landscape/spaces often more than hundreds of times. I am interested in the patterns that appear and in the element of time.

The description of my work is part of a process. Because of my work I discover more and more new insight in the perception of reality.
My inspiration is the experience of the landscape in my youth.
